Frances Eloise Burke, age 85 of Andrews, NC passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.

She was born in Cherokee County, NC to the late John Frank and Myrtle Ethel Garett Nichols. Frances had lived in Baltimore Maryland for over 30 years where she was employed with Meadow Mills as an inspector. She also worked for seven years with American Thread after returning to the Andrews area. Frances loved riding motorcycles with her husband and friends. She was a member of the Valley River Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Floyd Ellsworth Burke; sisters, Doris Carter and Mabel Owensby.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Messer and husband Bo of Waynesville, NC; one son, Charles Haney of Baltimore, Maryland; one brother, John Frank Nichols, Jr of Andrews, NC; grandsons, Michael Messer and Shane Messer and wife Carole all of Andrews, NC; granddaughters, Tammy Doyle and Kay Meeker; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend and loved one, Debbie Bateman and family.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews, NC. Dr. Homer Wilson will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM-1 PM, Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews, NC.
