Dorothy “Dot” Morgan, age 84, of Loganville, Georgia, formerly of Murphy, died Saturday, May 21, 2016 at her residence. She was a native of Cherokee County, where she had lived most of her life before moving to Georgia in 2009. Dot was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She was the daughter of the late George and Sarah Fox Forrister and the wife of the late Cecil A. Morgan, who died July 14, 1997.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Salazar and husband, Jose of Stone Mountain, Georgia; two granddaughters, Tanya Ramirez and her boyfriend, Charles Lee of Loganville, Georgia and Rosita Ramirez of Stone Mountain, Georgia; five great grandchildren, Michael and Logan Lacroix, Aiyana and Mason Ramirez, and Darian Lee; a special niece, Ann Coleman; and a special family member, Sandra Mason.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. Aud Brown officiating. The interment will be at Snow Hill Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Lacroix, Logan Lacroix, Darian Lee, Charles Lee, Tanya Ramirez, and Noah Garcia.

The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. Monday at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
