MURPHY, N.C.-  The Republican primary election for the new Mayor of Murphy was held on September 13, 2017, to see who would represent the Republican party in the upcoming election.

The final tally revealed Rick Ramsey as the winner of the Republican primary. Fetch Your News contacted Ramsey for a statement on his primary victory.

“The results of the overwhelming support that I am receiving from a wonderful group of respected and diverse people is very humbling and so appreciated. I am very thankful for the substantial victory in yesterday’s Primary for Mayor. If elected I will represent all citizens as well as our Murphy business community. I truly believe I am the best choice for the Mayor who will be the most successful ambassador to represent Murphy.” – Republican nominee for Mayor of Murphy Rick Ramsey
