Boyd A. Rogers, 90, of Andrews passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at his residence. Boyd was a native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County. He had worked with Southern Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 1989. Boyd was a member of the Andrews First Baptist Church.

He was the son of the late Joseph Arch and Bertha Gray West Rogers. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Rogers Best and Stella Rogers Tatham; and a brother, Paul W. Rogers.

Surviving are his wife of more than 70 years, Billie Mulkey Rogers; a son, Boyd Alan Rogers and wife, Linda B. of Greensboro, North Carolina; a brother, Harold R. Rogers and wife, Eulane of Cary, North Carolina; a grandson, Timothy Joseph Rogers; a step-grandson, Matthew J. Lauver; and 13 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with the Rev. Chuck Davis officiating. The interment was in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Danny Tatham, Jim Mulkey, Jim and Jeff Johnson, Whitney Hines, and Barney and Tim Rogers.

The family received friends from 1-2:45 Thursday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews prior to the services.

The family requests memorials be made in memory of Boyd A. Rogers to the Four Seasons Hospice, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
