Dorothy “Dot” Alice Robinson Chastain: Obituary

Dorothy “Dot” Alice Robinson Chastain, age 81 of Marble, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Clay County Care Center.

She was a native of Cherokee County, NC; daughter of the late James and Sally Grindstaff Robinson. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, JB Chastain and four brothers, Claude Robinson, Lloyd Robinson, Bobby Robinson, and Andy Robinson; and three sisters, Louise Scroggs, Neat Hamilton, and Francis West.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Chastain and wife, Rebecca of Blue Ridge, GA, Billy Joe Chastain of Marble, and Julius Lee Chastain of Marble; two brothers, Clarence Robinson of Murphy and Amos Robinson of Andrews; two sisters, Lemmer Heddrick of Gastonia and Jane Scroggs of Robbinsville; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Monday September 7, 2015 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy. Rev. Marcus Larey will officiate. Burial will be at Old Martin’s Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Chastain, Robert Chastain, Jimmy Chastain, Douglas Chastain, Adam McLean, and Adrian Jefferies.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Saturday, September 5 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
