Billy Joe Chastain: Obituary

Billy Joe Chastain, age 53, of Hayesville, NC passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 from injuries sustained in an ATV accident.

He was born in Towns County, GA to the late James and Vernie Garrett Chastain. Billy was the Director of the Clay County Land Field. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and riding his four wheeler. Billy loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Leo Chastain.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Patterson Chastain; one son, Christopher Joe Chastain and wife Holly Lundquist of Hayesville; two daughters, Jessica Rae Chastain and husband Paulie Lucas of Hayesville and Rebecca Leann Chastain and husband John Stogsdall of Hayesville; three brothers, Wallace Chastain, Leon Chastain and Clifford Chastain; three sisters, Iona Campbell, Emma Free and Blanche Teems; grandchildren, Bryanna Nicole Chastain, Hunter James Chastain and Krissy Leann Stogsdall; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Townson Rose Funeral Home in Hayesville, NC. Rev. Ricky Rogers will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 PM, Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Rita Chastain’s special account at the State Credit Union in Murphy or Hayesville, NC.
