Alan Wilson Rodgers, 69, of Murphy, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at his residence. He was a native of Huntsville, Alabama, but lived in Hendersonville, Tennessee most of his life. Alan served in the U.S. Air Force and was a graduate of Vanderbilt University. He made a career in finance and sales. Alan was a passionate archer and an outdoor enthusiast. He was an active member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school for many years.
He was the son of Virginia Shields and the late Emmett Rodgers.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, Virginia and her husband Larry, are his son, Ford Rodgers; daughters, Rachel Branch (Garth) and Meredith Lacey (Chris) and their mother, Judy Rodgers; sisters, Christy Horton (John) and Nancy “Nan” Wright; brothers, David Rodgers (Joyce) and Roy “Skip” Hallenbeck (Angie); his loving grandchildren, Eli and Nathan Rodgers, Anna Branch, Cody Foster, and Christopher, Brianna, and Taylor Lacey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Central Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, Alabama.
