The 22 mile Veteran Suicide Awareness walk from Andrews to Murphy, NC on May 28 was a success. The goal was to bring knowledge to the community of the 22 suicides a day of our American veterans.
An outpouring of donations, food, water, tables, supplies, advertising and manpower from the greater community gave the event the necessary tools so walkers from three states could make the 9 hour 22 mile trek.
A shout out to the Cherokee County Sheriffs Office, Murphy Police Dept, Murphy Fire Dept, North Carolina Highway Patrol, Cherokee County EMT, Fannin County Amateur Radio Group and Cherokee County Amateur Radio Emergency Service for making this a truly safe event.
The Warriors Veteran Outreach thanks everyone for their support and involvement.
