Mrs. Lavetta Clement: Obituary

Mrs. Lavetta Clement age 79, of Murphy passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Valley View Care Center in Andrews. She was born May 2, 1937 and lived most of her life in Claiborne County, TN. Lavetta was a loving wife and mother and worked for a time for the Claiborne County schools.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lolas Russell; father, Carl Russell; husband, Wiley Reece Clement; and brothers, Bob Russell, Homer Russell, and Roger Russell.

She is survived by sister, June Wamack and husband, Albert of Halls, TN; brother, Archie Russell of Murfreesboro, TN; sister-in-laws, Patsy Russell of Franklin, TN and Cinda Russell of Guston, KY; sons, Micheal and wife, Eugenia of Madison, AL and Douglas and wife, Susanne of Murphy; and grandchildren, Beth Clement of Dallas, TX, Andrew Clement of Nashville, TN, Caitlin Clement of Murphy, and Coulter Clement of Murphy.

The family received friends Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 1PM till 2PM with funeral services that followed at 2PM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel, New Tazewell, TN with the Rev. Albert Wamack, the Rev. Randy Collins, and the Rev. Billy Stiles officiating. Music was provided by the Howard’s Quarter Singers. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery in New Tazewell. Pallbearers: Andrew Clement, Coulter Clement, Tommy Collins, Randy Collins, Raymond Norton, and Eddie Don Rowe.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Howard’s Quarter Baptist Church.
