Mrs. Lillian Stratton Greene: Obituary

Lillian Stratton Greene, 82, of Naples, Florida went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.

A native of Robbinsville, she was the daughter of the late J.D. Stratton, Sr. and Bertha Odom Stratton. Lillian was a retired, nationally recognized Realtor. Nicknamed “Lilly” in the Real Estate business, she was listed as one of the top 100 agents in the industry. She was also published in the “Who’s Who of Americas’ Best Real Estate Agents” by the National Board of Realtors. Lillian was a true lover of people with an innate ability to communicate with people from all walks of life. She was of Methodist faith and was sustained by her belief that God was the answer for everything in life.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Frederick “Mitchell” Shields.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Lawton Greene of the home; son, Danny Shields of Warrenton, VA; sisters, Edna Collins, Vera Mullis, and Mary Carter all of Robbinsville, Louise Rodriquez of Roswell, Georgia, Ruby Curtis of Andrews, Christine Crenshaw of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, and Joyce Norwood of Naples, Florida; brother, Jack Stratton, Jr. of Wayne, Pennsylvania; daughter in-law, Margaret Shields Carringer of Buford, Georgia; and special niece, Nancy Curtis of Andrews.

She is also survived by four grandchildren that were the light of her life, Chris Shields of Murphy, Kelly Shields Kim of Alexandria, Virginia, Amanda Shields Moore of Sandy Springs, Georgia, and Daniel Shields of Warrenton, Virginia; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special family friends, Trish Smithline of Marietta, Georgia and Prince “Junior” Warner of Germantown, Maryland.

The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Ivie Funeral Home in Andrews. The services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 18, 2016 in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home in Andrews with Rev. Steve West and Dr. Jerry Carringer officiating. Interment will be in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Shields, Daniel Shields, Eddie Rogers, William Collins, Barry Curtis, and Steve Curtis.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews is in charge of all arrangements.
