Joyce Verner Palmer Jones of Calhoun, GA passed away August 30, 2016 at her residence.
Joyce was born in Pitts, GA but resided in West Palm Beach, FL. She later moved to Murphy, NC and then to Calhoun, GA. Joyce was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Palmer and second husband, Milton Jones.
Survivors include daughters, Brenda Granger and Life Mate “DJ” Cunningham of Calhoun, GA and Glenda Palmer of Southport, NC, adopted daughter, Janie Massingill of Calhoun, GA; there are seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; a very large number of nieces and nephews; and also two step-daughters, Gloria Jones and Sherry Furtado.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM – 12 PM, Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy, NC.
A Time of Remembrance to follow under the direction of Brother Daniel Brown.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Sea Biscuit Wild Life Shelter, 1638 E. Beach Drive Oak Island, NC 28465.
She will be laid to rest at the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Murphy, NC.
