Lillian Cook Hunsucker: Obituary

Lillian Cook Hunsucker, age 86 of Murphy, NC passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home.

She was born in Monroe County, TN to the late Samuel Juna and Bertice Athelene Davis Cook. Lillian worked at Lee’s as a machine operator for over 10 years. She loved flowers and had a green thumb. Lillian was a member of Grape Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Hunsucker; two brothers, Leroy Cook and Billy Cook and four sisters, Roxie Seamon, Olah Helms, Gladys Cook and Athelene Cook.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Hunsucker and Michael Hunsucker and wife Janice all of Murphy and Jerry Hunsucker of Warne, NC; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Edward Carter will officiate. Burial will be in the Grape Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM, Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
