Ramona Bates Hogsed: Obituary

Ramona Bates Hogsed passed away peacefully Friday, October 14, 2016.

She was born on September 18, 1930 in Unaka, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Charles F. Sr. and Bessie Craig Bates. Ramona was preceded in death by her husband, John Leonard Hogsed; and a son, John Michael Hogsed.

She became a nurse at Joan Glancy Hospital in Duluth, Georgia. Ramona later moved to Tampa, Florida.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Ledford and husband, Ronald of Tampa, Florida; a son, Gary Russell Hogsed and wife, Adele of Norcross, Georgia; and a brother, Ronnie Bates and wife, Opal of Murphy. She will be missed by nieces and nephews, and friends.

A brief service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 24, 2016 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Aud Brown officiating. The interment will be in Unaka Community Cemetery.

A gathering of friends will be held at 1:00 to 1:45 Monday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
