Judy Moss Matheson, age 58, of Hayesville, NC passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA.
She was born in Towns County, GA but lived her whole life in Clay County. Judy was the daughter of Roberta Patterson Moss of Hayesville, NC and the late Clyde Moss. She had been a seamstress in the textile industry and also a cosmetologist. Judy loved gardening, canning and sewing. She was a devoted mother.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Gail Tipton and husband Adam of Blairsville, GA; her son, Jonah Matheson of Hayesville; grandmother, Astille Ledford of Hayesville; aunts, Ruth M. Ledford of Hayesville and Louis Hooper of Hiawassee, GA; uncle, Leon Moss of Hayesville; and step-brother, James Patterson of Hayesville.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 PM, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Billy Trotter will officiate. Music will be conducted by Teresa Cunningham and Kenneth Hogsed. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonah Matheson, Adam Tipton, David Mullins, Ronnie Hogsed, Brandon Davenport and Austin Davenport. Honorary pallbearer will be Ernie Davenport.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
