Mr. Michael Don McDonald: Obituary

Michael Don McDonald, 62, of Warne passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 at his residence. Mike served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He was proud to be a veteran and he enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

He was the son of the late LeRoy Frank and Peggy June Weaver McDonald.

Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Susan McDonald; two daughters, Jessie Wooten and husband, Josh of Hiawassee, Georgia, and Niki Shaffer and husband, Tim of Hayesville; a son, Michael McDonald and wife, Jamilla of Glendora, California; two sisters, Patti Covar of Austin, Texas, and Kathy Maynard of Murphy; two brothers, Frank McDonald of Jefferson City, Tennessee, and Ronnie McDonald and wife, Lori of Newport, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Trentin Shaffer, Finn McDonald, and Jaelyn Wooten; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 13, 2016 at his residence with military graveside rites conducted by the Hayesville VFW Post 6812 (Allison-Bristol) and the American Legion Post 532, and the Murphy DAV Chapter 73 and American Legion Post 96.

The family requests memorials be made in memory of Michael Don McDonald to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 712, Murphy, NC 28906.
