Mrs. Carol Dillard: Obituary

Mrs. Carol Dillard age 73 of Murphy Passed away peacefully on Saturday February 11, 2017 surrounded by her loving family in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Dillard was born on May 1, 1943 in Detroit, MI., the daughter of the late Hoyt Gladson and the late Bertha Ware Gladson. Carol owned and operated Carols Beauty Shop for many years. She loved playing with her grandchildren. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and also a brother, Jerry Gladson in 2012. Mrs. Dillard was a member of Simons Chapel Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Dillard are her loving husband of fifty six years, Homer Dillard of Murphy, one son and daughter in law, Mike and Sharon Dillard of Fortmill, Sc., one daughter and son in law, Pam and Bill Johnson of Murphy, two sisters and one brother in law, Kay and Mitchell Loudermilk, Linda Hembree all of Murphy, one brother and sister in law, Ronnie and Sheila Gladson of Copperhill, five grandchildren, Kasey and Kim Lefevers, Logan Dillard, Jake Dillard, Sami Kelly, Autumn Kelly, one great grandchild, Caden Lefevers, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday Feb. 16, 2017 at 6:00 pm from the Simons Chapel Baptist Church. The family will meet with friends during this time. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Simons Chapel Church Cemetery Fund in Mrs. Dillard’s memory.
