Mr. Roy Dean Moore: Obituary

Mr. Roy Dean Moore, age 74 of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at his home. Mr. Moore was born June 9, 1942 in Murphy, NC to the late Dee Moore and the late Alice Donely Moore. A member of Peachtree Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother and son, Michael Moore. Roy served his country bravely enlisting in the Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and bowling in his spare time.

Survivors include wife, Ethel McTaggart Moore, two sons, Donald and wife Sheila Moore of Rising Sun, MD and Allen Moore of Murphy, one sister, Joan Roach, one brother, Johnny Moore, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy with Rev. Derek Tilley officiating. Interment will follow in the Peachtree Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home, Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.
