She was born in Haywood County, NC to the late Ray Mercer and Mallie Wooten Anderson. Joan worked at Clifton Precision as an assistant personal manager.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers: Jude, Ray Jr., Lynwood and Kenneth Anderson and sister, Brenda Teems.
She is survived by her brothers, Neal, Lane, Tommy, Robert and Terry Anderson; sister, Peggy Henson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Aud Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Hickory Stand United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carl Henson, Joe Henson, Jimmy Henson and Greg Teems.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm, Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy, NC.
