Out goes the rain in comes the wind, a strong cold front will blast through NC Sunday morning clearing out the rain and bringing with it strong winds. Westerly winds will increase dramatically Sunday morning with the strongest winds Sunday afternoon and overnight hours.
Impacts Tree limbs will be blown down. Trees in waterlogged soil will topple over, increasing the potential for power outages. Driving high profile vehicles will be very difficult. The highest winds will be in the mountains with gusts up to 60 MPH, across the Foothills and Piedmont will see 40-50 MPH wind gusts, and in eastern NC 30-40 MPH wind gusts
