The Murphy US Veterans Thrift Store is pleased to recognize and reward Murphy Middle School for their anti-litter efforts. Their efforts have received local, state and national attention made possible by Principal Tiffany Clapsaddle, Vice Principal Keith Payne, teacher Anne Marie Franklin and their students, according to the North Carolina Litter-Free Coalition.
As the owners of the Murphy US Veterans Thrift Store, we would like all businesses to invest in the anti-litter efforts of our Cherokee County Schools. Our donation is intended to support the teachers and students at Murphy Middle School that worked with and were referred to us by the North Carolina Litter-Free Coalition for their anti-litters efforts.
We applaud the efforts of the veteran owned and managed, North Carolina Litter-Free Coalition because this organization is motivated to empower our Cherokee County Schools and youth through community pride opportunities. As a business, we believe that if our youth have pride in themselves, schools, community, and country then all of our businesses and residents will benefit.
We have also become a place where those wishing to pick up litter can come and receive 33-gallon NCDOT approved litter bags.
If the businesses of Cherokee County would contact Gary Chamberlain-Spokesman for the North Carolina Litter-Free Coalition (FB), PO Box 98, Murphy, NC 28906,
FolksvilleUSA@gmail.com, or (928) 202-1186 (AZ cell), he will let you know which schools have partnered with the North Carolina Litter-Free Coalition in an effort to restore the beauty to our community.
