MURPHY, NC. – Water customers of the Town of Murphy located off of Hwy. 141 will be without water from 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3, until 7 a.m., Friday, Oct. 4.
Town Manager Chad Simons confirmed the times of the stoppage Tuesday, Oct. 1. He also confirmed that the stoppage is to allow for the installation of water and sewer taps for the new nursing home.
The nursing home requires one sewer tap and two water taps, accounting for the overnight time frame needed to complete the process.
The stoppage time was selected to cause the least disruption possible for residents.
Water customers located on U.S. 64 Alt. in Peachtree will not be impacted by the stoppage.
