MURPHY, N.C. – A Murphy man was arrested on October 11 on murder and breaking and entering charges from Buncombe County, NC.
Cross Lamar Beaver, 22, was located by an off-duty deputy sergeant who saw Beaver operating a vehicle in the Ranger Community. The sergeant maintained loose surveillance and provided locational information which enabled Investigators to capture Beaver without incident.
Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office received information the first week of October about Beaver and his suspected involvement in a homicide in Buncombe County.
Beaver is currently incarcerated in the Cherokee County Detention Center under no bond. He also was arrested as a fugitive on drug charges in Georgia.
Sheriff Derrick Palmer stated “This is another example of the good results involving team work between our divisions and the results of sharing information. Well done.”
