Two year drug investigation come

CHEROKEE COUNTY, NC – A two-year investigation into two local drug traffickers culminated in their arrest in Georgia.

A joint operation between Narcotics Agents with Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Union County, GA Sheriff’s Office, Fannin County, GA Sheriff’s Office and Gilmer County, GA Sheriff’s Office came to a close on June 26, 2025 with the arrest of Scott Decasper and Juliana Perry, both Cherokee County, NC residents.

On June 26, 2025, Agents from each agency conducted a vehicle stop on Decasper and Perry in Gilmer County, Georgia and information was received that the subjects had traveled to Georgia to pick up methamphetamine to bring back to Cherokee County.

During the vehicle stop, Investigators with Gilmer County’s Crime Suppression Unit found over 10 ounces of Methamphetamine within the vehicle.

As a result, Decasper and Perry were both placed under arrest without incident and confined in Gilmer County Detention Center under no bond.

Both are charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine and various other offenses.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend their appreciation to Gilmer, Union and Fannin County Sheriff’s Office’s for their help and commend them on a job well done in their continued effort to protect our communities.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
