PRESS RELEASE – Our office has received numerous calls today regarding spam calls circulating today. These calls seem to be directed towards medical providers in Cherokee County and the caller states they are Chief Deputy Justin Jacobs calling over missed jury duty and then attempts to extort money over the phone for missing jury duty.

Our office WILL NEVER solicit money from anyone over the phone or in person. If you receive calls of this nature, hang up immediately. Once you pay them, the money is gone and in almost all cases is not recoverable.

If you believe you’ve already fallen victim please contact Cherokee County Dispatch at (828) 835-3144 to speak with a deputy.
