James Alvin (Nick) Nichols: Obituary

James Alvin (Nick) Nichols, age 79 of Murphy, NC passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at his residence.

James was born in Culberson, NC to the late John Alvin and Wilma Loudermilk Nichols. He grew up around Epworth, GA and later moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. Nick was an avid motorcyclist. He was owner and operator of a motorcycle shop in Indianapolis for many years. Nick was a charter life member of the American Motorcycle Association and Life member of the Midwest Motorcycle Club. He had a spot at Decker’s Flea Market for the last 20 years.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Nichols; one son, Robert Nichols and wife Donnell; one daughter, Tanda Miles and husband Rodney; one brother, Robert Lynn Nichols and wife Honore; grandchildren, Tyler Miles, Jamie Miles and Katie Brotherton, Patricia Nichols and Josh Carr, Andrew Nichols, Jacob Nichols and special aunt, Retha Walden.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home. Rev. Ronald Brown will officiate Burial will be in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler Miles, Jamie Miles, Andrew Nichols and Jacob Nichols.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
