Edward Lee Chastain: Obituary

Edward Lee Chastain, age 82, of Marble, NC passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC. Edward was the son of the late John and Vesta Ballew Chastain. He had retired from Parker and Reichman. His passion in life, besides his wife, Modean of 59 years, was bass fishing. Edward was a Western Carolina Bass Club member, and he also enjoyed coon hunting. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, JB Chastain.

He is survived by his wife, Modean Chastain; two sons, Jimmy Chastain and wife, Tammy of Blairsville, GA, Robert Chastain and wife, Dianne of Marble, NC; one daughter, Arlene McLean of Marble, NC; six grandchildren, Heather Cisneros and husband, Tren, Courtney Chastain, Jason Chastain and wife, Hillary, Justin Chastain, Adam McLean and wife, Megan, Misty Jefferies and husband, Adrian; and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Pastor Ralph Barnard will officiate. Music will be provided by Jason Chastain, Justin Chastain and George Van Buskirk. Burial will be at Valleytown Cemetery in Andrews. Pallbearers will be Jason Chastain, Justin Chastain, Adam McLean, Dillon McLean, Tren Cisneros, and Adrian Jefferies. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. David Mock, Danny Cochran, James Cochran, Kingston Cisneros, Brayden Jefferies, Baler Jefferies, and Aiden Chastain.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Funeral Home in Murphy.
