Mary Clyde Rogers, 88, of Hayesville passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 in a Towns County, Georgia care facility. She was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County. Clyde worked at the Shooting Creek School as an assistant librarian. She later worked at ACI until retiring in order to keep her grandson. Clyde enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, and quilting. She loved her family greatly and taking care of them. Clyde was a member of the Shooting Creek Fire Department Auxiliary and the Eagle Fork Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Claude Forrest and Mattie Ledford Woody and the wife of the late Robert Clay Rogers, who died August 23, 2010. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Lewis and Dorothy Curtis, and an infant sister; and a brother, Carl Woody.

Surviving are a son, Gary Rogers and wife, Sara of Young Harris, Georgia; a sister, Audrey Cole and husband, Walter of Hayesville; a brother, Clarence Woody and wife, Joann of Hayesville; a grandson, John Alan Rogers and wife, Kerry of Young Harris; and a great granddaughter, Bristol Rogers.

Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM Thursday, March 10, 2016 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Ricky Rogers officiating. The interment was in Eagle Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tommy Nichols, Michael Woody, Lanny and Larry Cole, Kenneth Curtis, Fletcher Bradley, and Jack and Bobby Rogers. Denny Woody served as honorary pallbearer.

The family received friends from 2-3:45 Thursday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.

The family requests memorials be made in memory of Mary Clyde Rogers to the Eagle Fork Cemetery Fund, c/o Debra Burch, 198 Burnt Schoolhouse Road, Hayesville, NC 28904.
