Betty Ann Grant, 81, of Chattanooga, Tennessee died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at her residence. She was a native of Gaston County, North Carolina and lived in West Palm Beach and Okeechobee, Florida before moving to the Nantahala Community in North Carolina and Chattanooga 30 years ago. She was a homemaker who was loved and respected by everyone who knew her.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph Meek and Mary Pearl Ramsey Capps and the wife of the late George Edward Grant, who died August 11, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Barton; and two brothers, Bob and Fred Capps.

Surviving are four daughters, Lynn Atkinson of Hixson, Tennessee, Lila Wingo and husband, Clyde of Ringgold, Georgia, LuAnn Baum and husband, Mike of Coalmont, Tennessee, and Dena Ubillos and husband, Scott of Lithia, Florida; two sons, George Grant Jr. of Hixson, Tennessee, and Mark Grant and wife, Tara of Bloomingdale, Georgia; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 1, 2016 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, North Carolina with the Rev. Jim Cochran officiating. The interment will be in Briartown Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Trevor and Troy Ledford, Justin Hawkins, Aaron Wingo, Jake Baum, and Hayes Ubillos.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, North Carolina.
