Lorene J. Rowland, age 81, of Sylva, died Friday, November 11, 2016 in an Asheville hospital. She was a native of Cherokee County, but had been living in Sylva over twenty years. Lorene had spent the last twenty years with the Senior Companion Program in Jackson County. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was the daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Bonnie Goff Rowland.

Surviving are two daughters, Annette Trull of Canton, Georgia, and Robin Allman and husband, Fred L. III of Canton, Georgia; a son, Mark E. Trull of Maggie Valley, North Carolina; a sister, Birdie Hensley of Whittier, North Carolina; six grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with Pastor Tim Dillard officiating. The interment will be in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lari Allman, Adam Brooks, Bruce Brooks, Evan Firkus, Boo Needham, and Mark Trull.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 p.m. Tuesday at Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews prior to the service.
