Juanita Henson Hampton, 89, of Murphy passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 in a Murphy care facility. She was a lifetime resident of Cherokee County. Juanita had worked as a seamstress for Brumby Textile, and was a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Taylor and Lola Ledford Henson and the wife of the late Clarence Hampton who died June 1, 1996. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Imaglen Henson, Odena Henson, Annie Robinson, and Claudine Ensley, and a brother, J.T. Henson.

Surviving are two sons, Ronnie Hampton and wife, Janice of Blue Ridge, GA, and Mitchell Hampton and wife, Frankie of Murphy; a sister, Francis Garrett of Hayesville; three grandchildren, Jarrad Hampton, Whitney Hampton, and Rebecca Hughson; and six great grandchildren, Aiden, Mackenzie, Parker, Jordan, Taylor, and Kaigan.

Interment will be held in Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial be made to: Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home, 3990 E. US Hwy 64 Alt., Murphy, NC 28906.
