Charlie “Snookie” Brown, age 52, of Murphy, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at a Chattanooga, Tennessee hospital. He had served in the United States Army. Charlie had also worked at Bombardier and Team Industries for over sixteen years.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He was the son of Maxine Rogers Brown of Andrews and the late William “Bill” Brown.

Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Kephart Brown of Murphy; a daughter, Kelley Brown of Blairsville, Georgia; and a son, Dilon Brown of Andrews. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Revs. Eddis Dockery and Gene Measmer officiating.  Pallbearers will be Jeff Bailey, Kevin Bailey, Kenneth Thomas, Tony Sluder, Steve Parker, Scott Day, and Terry Younce. Military rites will be provided by the Murphy American Legion Post 96, VFW Post 10222, Hayesville VFW Post 6812 (Allison-Bristol), and American Legion Post 532.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:45 p.m. Friday, June 3^rd at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to: Shriners Children’s Hospital, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC  29605.
