Mrs. Mary Katherine Stewart age 74 of Murphy passed away on Wednesday October 26, 2016 in the North East Ga. Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Stewart was born on May 1, 1942 in Murphy, NC., the daughter of the late J.E. Henson and the late Florence Sexton Henson. Mary loved gardening, growing flowers and crocheting. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and also a son, Eddie Stewart in 1982 and a sister, Linda Williams in 2014. Mrs. Stewart was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mrs. Stewart are one daughter, Melissa Stewart of Murphy, three brothers, Kenneth and Wendy Henson of Murphy, James and Pam Henson of Orlando, FL., Danny and Amanda (Dyer) Henson of Blairsville, two sisters, Carol and Jimmy Givens of Balsam, NC., Jane Henson of Peachtree, NC., two grandchildren, Snowy and Mickey Roberson, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. R.L. Martin officiating. Special music will be presented by Lavada Cheek. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Kevin and Kerry Lockaby, Kenneth Henson J., T.J. Dockery, Matt Burrell, Tee Patton and Mark Knowles. Interment will follow in the Bell View Community Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-9:00 pm.
