Jean Louise Rhodes, age 59 of Murphy, NC passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at her residence.
She was born in Highland Park, Michigan. Jean was the daughter of the late Loretta Kinney Ross and James Vernon Ross of West Frankfort, Illinois. She was a seamstress, licensed C.N.A and caregiver. Jean enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and fishing. She loved being a homemaker and spending time with her family. Jean was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by an infant brother, David Ross.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Rhodes; one son, Matthew Rhodes of Murphy; three brothers, James Ross of Mt. Clemens, Michigan, William Ross of Warren, Michigan and Michael Ross of West Frankfort, Illinois and two sisters, Barbara Fithian of West Frankfort, Illinois and Robin Lukens of Murphy.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Cherokee Lake Picnic Area.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Local Chapter: Cherokee County Chapter, PO Box 1151, Murphy, NC 28906 and to the Good Shepherd’s Hospice, 125 Medical Park Lane, Murphy, NC 28906.
