Robert J. Peek, 85, of Murphy passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at his residence. He was a native of Cook County, Illinois, but lived in Yorkville, Illinois before moving to Murphy in 1995. Robert retired as an engineer from Bell Laboratories in 1987 after 24 years.

He was the son of the late Roger Merritt and Mildred Edna Burt Peek. He was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Alan Peek; and a grandson, Jeremy Thomas Peek.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Janet Johnston Peek; a son, Paul Robert Peek and wife, Melody of Eastover, South Carolina; two sisters, Judy D’Allaird and husband, Walter of Cary, North Carolina, and Donna Edgerton of Plymouth, Michigan; a grandson, Andrew Justin Peek of Illnois.
