Mary Morrow, age 96 of Andrews, NC passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016.

She was a native of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late John Pitt and Della Love Phillips. Mary worked as a knitter helper for Berkshire Knitting Mill and a component assembler for Clifton Precision. She loved her family. Mary was true to her faith all her life and a member of the Andrews United Methodist Church.

Going home on Mother’s Day was a blessing since she made a difference in so many lives as a youth leader, Sunday school teacher and UMC “Love Circle” for almost 30 years. Mary was no saint, she loved flowers, butterflies, children and beautiful mountains.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Carlyle Morrow; brothers, Hilton Phillips, John Phillips, Max Phillips, Bernard Phillips and Mark Phillips and sisters, Lucille Love Phillips and Alba P. Bugg.

She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Marie Hadlock of Athens, GA; son, Steven Ray Morrow of Andrews, NC; granddaughters, Donna West Marlow (William, Jr) and Michelle Weineke-West (Ellen); great-granddaughter, Meagan Vestal and great-great grandson, Mason Vestal.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday May 12, 2016 at the Andrews United Methodist Church. Rev. Mary Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roy Mashburn, Whitney Burnette, Johnny Brown, Jackie Ledford, Maurice West, Jr. and Philip Rogers.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM, Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Andrews United Methodist Church.
