Robert “Bob” Hawkins, age 82 of Murphy, NC passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at Copper Basin Medical Center.

He was born in Polk County, TN to the late Samuel and Lennie LeFever Hawkins. Bob worked for the Tennessee Copper Mines. He enjoyed making billfolds. Bob enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Ranger Baptist Church and the Masonic Montgomery Lodge 426 A.F. & A.M.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara “Ann” Foster Hawkins; one daughter, Brenda Thomas and husband Michael of Epworth, GA; one granddaughter, Bobbie Jane Arp and husband Brian Arp; and two great-grandchildren, Dexter Arp and BreKailyn Arp.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Ranger Baptist Church in Murphy. Rev. L.B. Adams and Rev. Shane Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Stanley, Sammy Hawkins, Danny Stratton, Darrell Gates, Jim Hedrick and Nick Guthrie. Honorary pallbearers will be Timothy Hawkins, Matthew Hawkins, Joshua Hawkins and Ricky Hicks.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM, Tuesday, May 25, 2016 at the Ranger Baptist Church.
