Michael Gray, 62, of Marble passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in a Murphy hospital. He was a native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County. Michael was owner and operator of Automated Accounting in Andrews since 1982. He attended Andrews First Baptist Church where he was baptized and became a member in 1964. He currently served as deacon and Adult Sunday School teacher. He had also served as chairman of the deacons, treasurer, and Vacation Bible School director.

He was the son of Alma “Cricket” Brooks Gray and the late William Truett Gray. He was also preceded in death by paternal grandparents, W.C. and Leuna Gray; and maternal grandparents, Jeff and Cordie Brooks.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 32 years, Debbie Alexander Gray; son, Collin Gray of Andrews; daughter, Carrie Gray of Marble; brother, Gary Gray and wife, Stella of Andrews; and niece, Amanda Gray Morgan of Robbinsville.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 18, 2016 in the Andrews First Baptist Church with Dr. Calvin Bobo and Dr. Al Hood officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be current and former deacons of the Andrews First Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM -1:50 PM Saturday at the Andrews First Baptist Church prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Michael Gray to the Michael Gray Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Andrews First Baptist Church, PO Box 427, Andrews, NC 28901.
