Obituaries, Peachtree Elementary

On Tuesday morning, July 12, Patricia “Pat” Lu Popular passed peacefully in her home. She was known as Pat, Mom, Mama, Mammy, MaHa, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Pat was born in Hutchison, KS on July 14, 1934. She married John “Pops” Gordon Popular on February 2, 1953. Pat traveled nationally and internationally in relation to her husband’s Air Force career. Pat settled in the Martins Creek community with her family in the early 1970’s. Pat went on to retire from Levis, where she made many lifelong friends, and then worked several years at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. She loved sunflowers, traveling, word puzzles, and enjoying a cold Coca-Cola. She was an amazing cook, a colorful storyteller, and a talented crafter. Above all else, Pat was a strong woman, always giving love and laughs, and instilling in those around her the importance of family, and making the best of what life gives you.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gordon Popular.

She leaves behind her six children, Gordon Popular, Charlotte Popular Wright, Patty K. Popular, Carmen Plott, Sherry Popular, Donald Popular, and a very special daughter-in-law, Francine Popular; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally.

Pat will be so very missed as we celebrate the amazing life she lived here on Earth.
