Mr. Roy Arlen McClure, 73, of Andrews, died Friday, July 29, 2016, at his residence.

Born November 9, 1942, in Cherokee County, Roy was the son of the late Ernest and Myrtle Mathis McClure. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Raverett, and Richard McClure. Roy was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Archdale. He operated his own lawn care business and was a jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed being outdoors, and loved hunting, fishing and camping.

On April 6, 1984, he married the former Connie DeHart, who survives of the home. Also surviving are six children, Barbara Roberts (Randy), of Stoneville, Brenda Stinson (Lenny), of Greensboro, David Wishon (Marian), of Trinity, Larry Wishon, of Andrews, Steve Wishon (Julie), of Trinity, and Sandra Allen, of Lexington; 11 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren; and three sisters, Ruby Lee, of Andrews, Ruthie Tomlin (Jim), of High Point, and Roberta Owenby (Mitchell), of Trinity.

Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, officiated by Rev. Amos Mashburn and Rev. Mitchell Owenby. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
