Jennie Smedlund, age 74, of Marble passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 in a Murphy hospital. She was a native of Fulton County, Georgia where she had lived most of her life before moving to Cherokee County in 2009. Jennie worked for more than 40 years as a human resource manager and retired in 2007 from Southeastern Freight Lines. She attended the Murphy Church of Christ.

She was the daughter of the late Loy Pierce and Sarah Arlina Below Adair.

Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Bill Smedlund; three daughters, Ann Lowe of Conyers, Georgia, Jennifer Porter of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Erika Smedlund of Franklin, Georgia; a step-daughter, Diane Jones of Acworth, Georgia; a step-son, David Smedlund of Alpharetta, Georgia; and 11 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 6, 2016 in the Murphy Church of Christ with Minister Roy Stephenson officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the Murphy Church of Christ.
