Jessie James Ellis, age 74 of Andrews, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Charles George V.A. Medical Center in Asheville, NC.

Jessie was a native of Graham County, NC. He was a son of the late Johnny and Ruby Ross Ellis. Jessie was an U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tula Ledwell Ellis and a sister, Virginia Knighton.

Surviving are his brother, Jack Ellis of Andrews; sister, Winnia Fay Ellis of Andrews and several nieces and nephews

. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 6PM at the Townson-Rose Funeral Chapel, Andrews. Rev. Eddie Hardin will officiate. Military rites will conducted by the Andrews VFW Post 7620.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home

. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
