Mr. Weldon Elmore Allen: Obituary


Weldon Elmore Allen, age 78 of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Erlanger Medical Center. Mr. Allen was born May 1, 1938 in Copperhill, TN to the late Abraham E. Allen and the late Katherine Byrd Allen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Allen. Weldon was a member of the Ducktown Masonic lodge and in his spare time, he enjoyed raising sheep and chickens.

Survivors include loving wife Pat Allen, seven children, Tammy (Steve) Gaddis, Steve (Tammy) Allen, Larry (Karen) Allen, Nora Allen, Twyla (Mike) Cochran, Michele (Louis) Begley and Jose (Brittany) Rodriguez, former son-in-law, Rick Farner, two brothers, Tom (Amy) Allen and Ray (Austine) Allen, one sister, Lois (Rusty) Shriver, seventeen grandchildren, Stephanie Newman, Steven Gaddis, Sheena Rymer, Tyler Allen, Logan Allen, Bryson Allen, Cory Allen, Brittany Payne, Cody Farner, Hope Schuknecht, Michael (Hoss) Cochran, Chad Cochran, Jasmine Newby, Kayla Begley, Gavin Begley, Lily Rodriguez and Koby Rodriguez, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. David O’Neal officiating. Music provided by Mark Huff and Dodie Allen.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home, Monday, March 13, 2017 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
