CHEROKEE COUNTY, N.C.- The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce hosted a new business ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday August 17, 2017, for Judy-Bruce Cruise Planners. Located at 33 Peachtree St. in Historic Downtown Murphy.
There was an amazing turnout that included our own Murphy Mayor William N. Hughes. Judy captivated the audience with the story of how they came upon our small town, her background in the hospitality business, along with her love for the travel industry, and Bruce chimed in occasionally with humorous side-kick like one liners that filled the room with laughter.
It soon began to feel more like a family get together than it did an official ribbon cutting ceremony. That’s when the Mayor began to speak, and he had some heartfelt words for Murphy’s newest business owners.
“This is the part of the job that I really enjoy the most, and that’s opening new businesses in Murphy, because there’s nothing that will reflect growth more than people opening a new business in a small town, and I want to thank you both for having faith in the town, and the community to put your hard earned dollars into this business. We want to wish you very much success.” – Mayor Hughes
