Swain County: Homicide suspects still on the loose

The Swain County Sheriff’s office has reported that the suspects of a homicide that occurred on Friday August 14th are still at large.

Lenore Dawn Morris,70, was the victim of the alleged homicide. She was killed in her home in the Alarka community in Bryson City.

The suspects are believed to have stayed with the victim in her home from August 3 to 14. Sources have reported that the male suspect goes by “Rob” and the female suspect answers to  “Marie. ” It is not confirmed, but the female is said to have been a heavier woman, around 300 pounds.

The Swain County Sheriff’s office is asking for your help in locating a dark blue 2002 Ford Explorer with North Carolina tag number BCK-5266. Authorities believe the couple stole the vehicle, as it is missing from the home where the homicide occurred. The Swain County Sheriff’s office advises the public to not approach the vehicle if spotted. It’s possible the suspects are still occupying it.
