BATTLE OF THE STATES HIGH SCHOOL BAKSETBALL TOURNAMENT 2022

(Towns County, Ga) – – 2022 Battle of the States High School Basketball Tournament, the 28th annual event, is underway at Towns County High (Home of the Indians and Hosting School). This year’s tournament will feature men and women high school basketball teams from Towns County (GA), Rabun County (GA) Wildcats, Union County (GA) Panthers, Coosa (GA) Eagles, Murphy (NC) Bulldogs, Hayesville (NC) Yellowjackets, Franklin (NC) Panthers, and Polk County (TN) Wildcats.

Game 1 : (Women) Franklin 67 Murphy 40

Franklin and Murphy began with a slower pace to begin the game with Laliee Holloway opening the game with a crowd-pleasing 3-point jump shot after two minutes of time elapsed. Another two minutes clicked off the clock before Franklin heated up and took the lead and did not look back after a Tori Ensley free-throw. Ensley paced both teams with four 3-point shots and lead all scorers with 25 points. Lailee Holloway led the Bulldogs with 13 points. Murphy shot 25% from the floor and Franklin 48%.

Thursday (December 29th) Franklin will play the 4PM Women’s game and Murphy will start the day at 10AM. The bracket and schedule will be updated later tonight after all games have concluded from today.
