(Hiawasse, GA)  – – Franklin is demonstrating it has a potent and well-rounded team which can answer the challenge.  There was no real standout in the 82-to-52 pounding the Panthers gave to the Polk County Wildcats.  Franklin established its lead early and shared the ball as five Panthers were in double figures.  Franklin defense shut down Polk County.  The Panthers proved they were the more powerful feline team on the floor by halftime leading 41-to-17.

Franklin Coach Doug Plemmons mentioned today’s game performance was better than Wednesday’s meeting with Murphy.  There was a noticeable difference with the Panthers taking more shots in the paint and showing its dominance.  Max McClure led the Panthers in scoring with 17 points.  Polk County defense resorted to fouling and gave Franklin several free throw opportunities, which the Panthers made 20-of-28, a stat that could have drew the score closer for the Wildcats.
