High School sports are finally being played in the state of North Carolina. Cross Country and Volleyball are in full swing in the Tar Heel state, and the Murphy Lady Bulldogs Volleyball team is taking full advantage.

The Lady Bulldogs have played 4 games so far and are yet to lose a single set.

They opened the season with an away game against Andrews, and then hosted three straight home games against Nantahala, Hayesville and Swain.

This hot start is thanks in part to the two seniors on this volleyball team- Grace Nelson and Sarah Pullium.

Grace Nelson leads the team in kills with 26, 2.9 kills per set and an 81.3% kill percentage. She also boasts 7 solo blocks and 10 digs.

Sarah Pullium is second on the team in kills with 23, 2.9 kills per set and a 46% kill percentage. Sarah is also second on the team with 20 kills.

The Bulldogs are tied for first in the Big Smoky Mountain Conference with the Rosman Tigers who they play Tuesday of this week.

The Lady Bulldogs are poised to make a deep run this year if they maintain this type of moxy that they have played with to start the season.
