Hilda Matheson Watson, age 95, of Andrews, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 at an Andrews care facility.  She was a native and lifetime resident of Andrews.  Hilda was a talented painter and enjoyed crafting of most any kind.

She was a member of Andrews First Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late John Bronce and Bertha Waldroup Matheson. Hilda was the wife of the late Claude Venson Watson, who died January 26, 1982.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, DeEtta Beaver; a son, Byron Lynn Watson; and two infant children. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Bristol, Faye Whittemore, and Helen Ruth Postell; and a brother, Maurice Matheson.

Surviving are a daughter, Dianne Fish of Etowah, North Carolina; a son, Ron Watson and wife, Vesta of Sylva; a daughter-in-law, Becky Watson Brown of Cleveland, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Andrews First Baptist Church with the Dr. Calvin Bobo officiating.  The interment will be in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Watson, Jason Watson, Kris Watson, Lucas Watson, Billy Frizzell, and Amos Thorpe.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Andrews First Baptist Church prior to the service.
