James Lewis “Ronnie” Rich, born on February 25, 1946 to the late Roy and Nora Rich. He passed away at Murphy Medical Center on Monday, January 4, 2016.

He started working at a carpet mill in Dalton, GA and then went to work in construction in Bowwater, TN and retired there, and then he went to work at Levi’s before fully retiring from MGM Brakes. Ronnie loved making gardens and growing many kinds of flowers as well as he loved to watch NASCAR. He was a kind and giving person and was always there to help. Ronnie loved his family dearly. His only daughter and grandchildren and a special nephew Jeremy held a special place in his heart.

He liked to go to Old Fashion Baptist Church; he accepted God as his Savior many years ago at the Second Baptist Church. Ronnie was raised in Cherokee County, NC, and had lived in Peachtree since 1974.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Nora Lee Ware Rich; two sisters, Ruth Frankom and Loraine Morrow.

Surviving are his loving fiance of 28 years, Carol Hickey of Epworth, GA; daughter, Paris Angela Obryon and husband Brad; grandchildren, Wendy Thompson Ward and husband Adam, Channyn Geer Killian and husband Levi, Mandy Obryon Morgan and husband Josh, and Stephen Obryon; two great-granddaughter, Addyson Ward and McKenna Ward, Colton Morgan and a sweet great-granddaughter on the way; two brothers, Junior and wife MaryLou of Andrews and Henry “Ed” Rich of Peachtree and sister, Linda “Sue” Messor of Peachtree.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held at 6 PM, Friday, January 8, 2015 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Hoyt Brown will officiate. Music will be provided by the Wilson family and Glenda Clayton. Burial will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Murphy.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM, Friday, January 8, 2015 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
