Bill Jones, age 76, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Valley View Care Center in Andrews, NC.

Bill was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County. He was a son of the late Bill and Winnie Hall Jones. Bill had worked for Levis Strauss and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Cornwell Jones; brother, Jack Jones and sister, Joyce Dalrymple.

Surviving are his son, Marty Jones and wife Amy of Murphy; daughter, Vikki Rogers and husband Rev. Ricky Rogers of Hayesville: grandchildren, Lacei Cross and husband Billy, Trey Rogers, and C.J. Jones; great granddaughter, Wylei Cross; brother, Harry Jones and wife Betty Lou of Murphy; sisters, Sue Brown of Knoxville, TN, Betty Dockery of Hayesville, Annie Payne of Murphy and Melba Morrow and husband Eldon of Andrews and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Jimmy Rogers will officiate. Burial will follow Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM, Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
